Fake news on social media is widespread in the Philippines. Trolls love putting famous people in their fake statements. Sadly, a lot of people fall for it.
To shed light on this matter, Globe, a telco provider in the Philippines, decided to troll back. We collaborated with a beloved local celebrity Christmas icon - Jose Mari Chan (who’s even bigger than Mariah Carey during the holiday season). Using deepfake technology, we had him share a different kind of message for Christmas.
